Event Schedule & Entertainment

The following schedule is similar in each host community. Highlights and times specific to a community will be available in your Mapbook, which you will receive during registration on 6/10.

Route Hours
6/11 – Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 8:00 a.m. Route closes @ 6:00 p.m.
6/12 – Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. Route closes @ 5:30 p.m.
6/13 – Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. Route closes @ 4:00 p.m.
6/14 – Rolling Start: 6:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. Route closes @ 6:00 p.m.
6/15 – Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. Route closes @ 4:00 p.m.

  • Route support will begin in Ouray for participants who lodged there the previous night and choose to ride their bike from this location

6/16 – Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. Route closes @ 5:30 p.m.
6/17 - Rolling start: 6:00 a.m.– 8:00 a.m. Closing Ceremony @ 3:00 p.m.

Community Meals
• Breakfast is served from 5:30 a.m to 8:30 a.m. @ HQ Site
• Lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. @ HQ Site
• Dinner is served after lunch until 8:30 p.m. @ Entertainment Site

Entertainment/Beer Garden
The beer garden and entertainment will be open from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in each host community. Odell Brewing Company is the official Ride The Rockies beer sponsor and will be serving delicious cold brews in cans. Beers are $4 a can, and proceeds go to organizations within each community.

Check Presentations
The RTR/Denver Post Community Foundation Presentations will be held at the Entertainment Sites daily. The Alamosa presentation will take place during the Opening Ceremony at 7:00 a.m. on 6/11; the Salida presentation on 6/17  will take place during the closing ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

Baggage Transportation
• Early Truck departs between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
• Middle Truck departs between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
• Late Truck departs between 8:30 a.m and 9:00 a.m. most days.

Located at the HQ Site and open daily during the following hours:
June 10; 12:00 p.m. –7:00 p.m., Registration Day
June 11; 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
June 12; 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
June 13; 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
June 14; 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
June 15; 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
June 16; 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
June 17; 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Massage Tent
Reservations for massages will be accepted on registration day in Alamosa from 12pm - 7pm. Massages will be available at the HQ site during HQ hours from 6/11 - 6/16; $45 for 1/2 hour, $90 for one hour.

Shuttle Services
Shuttles will run from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the departure town and from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the destination town (specific shuttle times for lodging pick-ups and drop-offs will be outlined prior to the Tour and noted in your Mapbook).

Yoga Classes
Two 30-minute yoga classes will be held late afternoons Sunday 6/11 – Friday 6/16 at the HQ Site. Specific locations and times will be identified in your Mapbook and posted at the RTR Information Tent.

Cycling Seminars
Cycling Seminars will take place at 4:30 p.m. most days during the Tour. Specific Cycling Seminar locations will be outlined in your Mapbook and posted at the RTR Information Tent.

Safety Seminar
Rick Dunahoo, President of High Valley Cyclists, will host a safety seminar at the National Guard Readiness Center (1877 Old Sanford Rd), just a short walk from Alamosa HQ from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th. A biking safety video will also be playing at the same location from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. that day.

Alamosa will also be hosting their own community carnival and party at the Recreation Center fields on Friday, June 9. Live Music with Ernestine Romero 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and beer garden 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.  Also, the DPCF Large Check Presentation for Alamosa will happen during the Opening Ceremonies on Sunday, 6/11 at 7:00 a.m.

6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m -- Phoebe Hunt and the Gatherers  (High energy bluegrass music and performers at the Pagosa Folk n’ Bluegrass Festival)

Since the riders didn’t get to attend the Folk n' Bluegrass Festival on Reservoir Hill over the weekend, Pagosa Springs is bringing a bit of the spirit of the festival to the riders!


Durango - Buckley Park - June 12th
