This VIP 2-night weekend event kicks off the exciting week-long Denver Post Ride The Rockies Bicycle Tour and is one of the premier fundraisers for The Denver Post Community Foundation.
By joining our elite group of celebrity cyclists, you will start the weekend by meeting other Prologue participants at the welcome reception on Friday night at the historic El Monte Resort & Spa. Saturday begins with a power house breakfast to set the day of cycling up for success. You’ll finish the ride at Rancho de Chimayo, the coveted winner of the 2016 James Beard Foundation Award for the American Classic Restaurant, where riders will be refreshed with cold margaritas and delicious food. Enjoy a much deserved massage before you head off to dinner under the stars at The Bavarian atop Taos Ski Mountain.
To secure your spot in this limited event, Ride The Rockies requests a donation of $2,500 from cyclists. Proceeds from the ride will go directly to The Denver Post Community Foundation, which supports nonprofits in the areas of basic human services, youth, literacy and the arts.
Lodging at the El Monte Resort & Spa is limited to the first 34 Prologue participants to register. The following 16 participants will enjoy accommodations in a distinctively styled room, decorated with artistic treasures, at the La Fonda Hotel, a premier hospitality lodging venue, half a mile from El Monte Resort.
Transportation is available on Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 from Denver, Salida, Alamosa and Santa Fe Municipal Airport to the Prologue venue in Taos, NM. Participants will be shuttled from Taos to the start line in Alamosa on Sunday, June 11.
Top coaches from Carmichael Training Systems will lead a small group of cyclists in the enticing Southwest town of Taos. Beginning with a question and answer session, participants will then head out for an hour-long exclusive tour highlighting the town.
