RTR Staff

Chandler Smith

Tour Director

As a five year old, "with a little help from my friends," I was determined to ride! I knew the training wheels had to come off if I were to one day be a part of Colorado's premier bike event known as "Ride the Rockies." Well, I’m pleased to report I am out of training, and I am honored and privileged to be working with an incredible staff as we stage another ride and look to our 25th Anniversary.

As a native Coloradan and CU alum, I have wonderful memories of the tour, living vicariously through Larry Green during the evening news as he rode and reported on the day's happenings and events. It was exciting then, and I'm even more excited now to become an integral part of this ride.

Having spent the last three year's directing the MS 150 Bike Tour for the National MS Society, Colorado Chapter, I am fully aware of all the dynamics inherent within these events. I also know that to stage a successful, enjoyable, and safe tour it takes a community of dedicated partners and volunteers. The enthusiasm of our supporting cast coupled with the spirit of our cyclists truly makes Ride The Rockies the special event that it is. Together we will continue to develop the tour as we showcase our beautiful state.

The ride has an outstanding reputation; those who came before us worked tirelessly and left us with a wonderful legacy. I will work diligently to uphold the traditions, gain your trust, while developing new venues and building upon the overall experience. It is a pleasure to be a part of the RTR family!

When not emerged in all things spandex, I pass time recreating in the mountains, playing ultimate frisbee, pick'n a guitar, and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Andrea Tuttle

Community Relations Coordinator

I am a Colorado native, born and raised outside of Boulder.

I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in ’05 with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Production and am currently pursuing my master's in Marketing at the University of Colorado at Denver.

This is my third year with Ride The Rockies. In 2006 I started on as the Tour Assistant and in 2007, I came back for more! Now, serving as the Community Relations Coordinator, I am thrilled for the opportunity to be involved in another amazing tour in my new capacity.

In my first year as the assistant, I spent most of the week on Ride The Rockies in absolute awe. The beauty of Colorado and the spirit of the riders were truly inspiring. Also, the hard work and constant efforts made by our staff of volunteers has continued to amaze me.

I feel so blessed to have another year with this event and can’t wait to see everyone on the tour!

Lauren Becker

Tour Assistant

I am a born-and-bred Coloradan and reside in Littleton. In June of 2007 I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, with a degree in journalism. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, cooking, skiing, and spending time with my family and dog, Shadow.

I am in my first year as Tour Assistant with Ride the Rockies. I enjoy event planning, meeting new people, and exploring this great state—which makes working for Ride the Rockies the perfect job for me! Before coming to Ride the Rockies, I interned at a number of magazines, including National Geographic Adventure, 5280, and Rocky Mountain Sports.

I am looking forward to a great week in June, and fresh mountain air. I’m thrilled to be working in Colorado, spending time outdoors, and working with an incredible team. I can’t wait to see 2,000 eager riders on the road!
